UNCG is only UNC System school to meet priority goals

For the third year in a row, UNC Greensboro met or exceeded its annual targets on all five of its priority metrics as specified in “Higher Expectations,” the UNC System’s Strategic Plan. UNCG is the only UNC System institution to meet all priority goals.
This year the University also achieved the feat on eight out of nine Strategic Plan metrics, barely missing the ninth with a close score of 98%. In addition to meeting goals related to educational access and student success, the complete list of metrics (see chart below) includes substantially increasing the number of graduates with critical workforce credentials and the expansion of the University’s knowledge-creation enterprise.
This accomplishment is a further reflection of UNCG’s deep commitment to access with excellence and impact. As a research university and national leader in social mobility, UNCG is providing students with the knowledge and skills to transform their intellectual and economic lives, making new discoveries that help build our shared future, and working toward a more inclusive and equitable world.
This week the UNC System released annual updates for each constituent university on their performance metrics for meeting the System’s Strategic Plan goals. The new data is available on the UNC System website, and indicates that the UNC System is on a steady track to attain its five-year Strategic Plan goals, with student success metrics far exceeding the national average.
“This achievement is a testament to the perseverance of our faculty, staff, and students, and to their collective hard work and determination to adapt to challenging circumstances and find a way to realize success across every metric,” said Chancellor Franklin D. Gilliam, Jr. “It’s both remarkable and gratifying to see the results of our tenacious commitment to student success despite the significant challenges we faced during the pandemic.”
